Creating Sparks in the Woods
This is one of the first posts looking back on shoots in the last year. So one night me and photography bud Mark Checkley decided to get a bit exprimental with photography. I always had a love for painting with light and this was taking it to the next step. Originally got the inspiration from our friend Arjaan Bista who told us about the technique. The weather was miserable, walking through a pitch black woods on a windy winter evening. Most people would prefer to be indoors, and who am I kinding so would I, but with coats and wellies on, we couldnt complain (eventhough i do complain from time to time). Set up my tripod, packed the wisk with wire wool, sprayed lots of deodrant onto it, set my shot up and then using a wireless trigger took a long exporsure of me spinning the fireball around my head. Not the safest thing I have ever done but a lake was nearby if I got set alight (Knowing me it was a miracle I wasnt haha). We spent a good hour or two at perfecting the swing and different angles and areas, but it was all worth it for this shot.
Hope you Enjoyed the read
